Tips on getting your yard prepared for Spring

Spring officially starts on March 20, 2019 so that means warmer weather, longer days, more time spent outdoors and the dreaded "Spring Cleaning".  We cannot help you with indoor "Spring Cleaning", but we can definitely help with the outdoors!  Here are some tips to get your yard Spring Ready.

Starting around mid March

Initial Clean Up:

-Rake leaves that have remained over the winter season

-Pick up any branches or sticks/twigs

-Clean gutters (April showers bring May flowers)

-Clean out mulch beds and pull any weeds that have sprung up

-Trim and shape any bushes, shrubs or small trees

Late March/Early April

-Use a slow release fertilizer on your lawn to help prepare for the hot summer months

-Power wash your house, walkways and driveway

-Apply fresh mulch

-Plant spring flowers

-Clean off patio/deck furniture

-Aerate your lawn.  This will allow more oxygen and water to penetrate the roots providing more nutrients during the growing season.

-Start mowing at the first sign of growth
